WOW UNBELIEVABLE,
I lived in an army camp called LINTON just outside of PALMERSTON NORTH
In the mid 70's
My dad was in the NZ armed forces, and he was based at LINTON for a couple of years.
The Army paid wages once per month so once a month on a Friday evening the whole family went to Palmy to do the big grocery shop, It was an exciting time for us kids to visit the bright lights of the city,
So funny remembering those days.
LINTON was a horrible drab, boring place to live, I loathed living there.
Luckily we only lived in a camp for approx 18 months and moved on to the next Army camp, Sometimes worse than the camp you came from And sometimes better than the last.
WAIOURU an army camp not far from its big city TAIHAPEI was by far the worst place to have to live in, Just a miserable forlorn dump.
