Mac OS X Lion (version 10.7; marketed as OS X Lion) is the eighth major release of Mac OS X, Apple's desktop and server operating system for Macintosh computers. A preview of Lion was publicly unveiled at Apple's "Back to the Mac" event on October 20, 2010. It brings many developments made in Apple's iOS, such as an easily navigable display of installed applications, to the Mac, and includes support for the Mac App Store, as introduced in Mac OS X Snow Leopard version 10.6.6. On February 24, 2011, the first developer's preview of Lion (11A390) was released to subscribers of Apple's developers program. Other developer previews were subsequently released, with Lion Preview 4 (11A480b) being released at WWDC 2011. Lion achieved golden master status on July 1, 2011, followed by its final release via the Mac App Store on July 20, 2011. Apple reported over 1 million Lion sales on the first day of its release. As of October 2011, Mac OS X Lion has sold over 6 million copies worldwide.

OS X Mountain Lion gained the new malware-blocking system Gatekeeper and integration with Apple's online Game Center and iCloud services, while the Safari web browser was updated to version 6. As on iOS, Notes and Reminders became full applications, separate from Mail and Calendar, while the iChat application was replaced with a version of iOS's Messages. Mountain Lion also added a version of iOS's Notification Center, which groups updates from different applications in one place. Integrated links allowing the user to rapidly transfer content to Twitter were present in the operating system from launch. Facebook integration was also planned but unfinished at launch date. It was released as a downloadable update later. Mountain Lion was the last paid upgrade for an OS X major release, with OS X Mavericks and later being free. Apple later allowed free downloads of the OS, starting on June 30, 2021.

In this video, my goal is to explain why Snow Leopard was the most loved OS X release but more importantly what version of OS X I'd argue was the high water mark for OS X ;) This video has been a labor of love from someone who's used every version of OS X including the beta (which I bought back in the year 2000), who's somewhere between Mac aficionado and Apple skeptic, and author of a few popular online guides related Apple hardware. My first Mac of my own was a PowerMac G3 (in 1999), and since I've owned a PowerBook G3 Pismo, G4, G5, Mac Pro 2008, MacBook 2007 white, MacBook 2008 (Unibody), Mac Pro 2010, Mac Pro 2019, and an M1 Max. I also have had work provided MacBook Pros for years (2013, 2015, 2017, 2021). I even built a short lived hacktinosh. I say this not to brag but rather to say, I've experienced OS 9 and especially OS X on quite a bit of hardware. Everything in this video is from my own lived experience, from bouncing around between esoteric web browsers in days before Safari, like Omniweb, Chimera/Camino, Mozilla, and dual booting to OS 9 to run Photoshop 5.5. OS X/macOS is the glue that keeps me bound to Apple's computers as if Apple were to magically offer macOS for any hardware, I doubt I'd ever bought another Apple desktop post 2010.... and it shouldn't be that way. En este video veremos como instalar OS X Lion. Tabla de Apps compatibles con OS X Lion: 🤍 Pasos: . Descarga OS X Lion desde la Mac App Store. . Cuando se complete la descarga se iniciará el asistente de instalación. Ciérralo. . Pulsa con el botón derecho en el icono de Lion en el Dock y selecciona la opción "Mostrar en Finder". . Se abrirá la carpeta en la que está almacenada la instalación. Pulsaremos con el botón derecho sobre el archivo "Instalar Mac OS X Lion" y seleccionamos la opción "Mostrar contenido del paquete". . Entramos en la carpeta Contents / SharedSupport y buscamos el archivo InstallESD.dmg de 3,74 GB. . Introducimos un DVD virgen, un pendrive con capacidad suficiente o un disco duro con una partición a la que no le tengamos particular aprecio y abrimos la Utilidad de Discos para grabar la imagen de Lion. . Si lo que queremos es hacer un DVD de instalación podemos hacerlo mediante la opción Grabar en la barra superior de herramientas seleccionando la imagen. Si por el contrario preferís utilizar un pendrive de más de 4 GB de capacidad o un disco duro externo lo formatearemos como "Mac OS Plus (con registro)" asegurándonos de que la partición creada utiliza una Tabla de particiones GUID (podés comprobarlo pulsando en Opciones desde la pestaña Particiones) y utilizaremos la opción Restaurar. Para seleccionar el destino, arrastra la unidad desde el listado de la izquierda hasta el cuadro correspondiente. ¡Y listo! Ya tiene su reluciente disco de instalación de OS X Lion. Ahora lo único que necesitás para instalarlo en cualquier Mac compatible es mantener pulsada la tecla C durante el arranque. Por favor, comenten, voten y suscribanse al canal. These videos are important! They set up the entire experience for a new and old mac user alike. They give you that feeling you had when you bought your first mac and it's like a celebration. I knew it was up to me to bring it back. The whole product took three days to make. One day to tinker and break my programs ( like I usually do) one day to plan, lay the foundation and the look and one day to render all elements. about 90% of this was made in after effects, the last 10% is 3D Studio Max. Let's hope apple brings these intros back! Btw, this is a whole new level of procrastination. I was SUPPOSED to finish my video resume and cover letter but somehow this happened instead. Whoops. Ce dont vous aurez besoin : - une clé USB bootée avec Lion ou Mountain Lion Ou un DVD d'installation - un Mac prêt pour le formatage (donc avec vos données importantes récupérées) Une fois que vous êtes dedans, il va falloir effacer le contenu du disque dur en cliquant sur l'onglet effacer ( en le mettant bien au format MAC OS étendu ). Ensuite vérifier que la table de partition du disque dur / SSD est en GUID, si ce n'est pas le cas, allez dans partition, cliquez sur actuel puis sur 1 partitions et ensuite dans option vérifier si il est en GUID. Une fois que c'est fait, quittez l'utilitaire de disque et cliquez sur réinstallez Mac OS X, ensuite laissez l'ordinateur travailler !
