awesome great video support! i was able to install the belt on my hotpoint! i used a pair of vise grips to hold belt in place instead of pulley tool and had to use 2 zip ties but got it done.
This is very informative. My machine is older with different belt?
If it takes this much effort to change this belt , I strongly recommend never buying this washer
That belt is a mother fucker to put on
Thank you sir.
I think they cut out the part with all the swearing. Video made this look way easier than what it was in reality. It ended up taking me a few trial and error attempts and had to use two zip ties pulled as tight as they would go to keep the belt on while turning the wheel
Anyone have link to get pulley tool?
Does anyone know why my belt keeps getting jammed against the plastic tub once it’s been put on and I do a couple of spins?
I also found that you can avoid buying the belt installation tool by using a zip tie on the motor pully - put the belt on the motor pully and then put a zip tie right below that, keep it tight while doing the rest of the operation.
Now I know why I keep a supply of Zip Ties around !! Thanks!
Easy Peasy!!!!!
This is great information. I am not sure if the belt is the problem. After the washer fills with water there is almost a clicking noise like it wants to start but it keeps going on and off every one or two seconds or so. Does this sound like it would be the belt or something else
One important point: Remove your belt before ordering the installation tool. It turns out my model of GE washer -- which from the outside looks exactly like the one in this video -- does not require the tool, as there is a deep C channel on the motor pulley, and another C channel on the large pulley. Also, I would recommend buying some wider, easier to manipulate zip ties, in case your large pulley is as difficult to reach as mine. I had a terrible time getting the zip tie threaded and hooked up -- and I wear child sized gloves! Once I had the zip tie connected (it took about 20 awkward frustrating minutes to accomplish that) the rest was surprisingly easy, even for a petite, not strong woman.
Can you tell me what washer belt is compatible with the Costway portable washer?
